Festive Beginners Dip Pen Calligraphy Workshop – Gail’s Bakery, Hove

Join me for a cosy and creative Sunday afternoon at Gail’s Bakery on George Street in Hove, where you'll be gently guided through the magical world of dip pen calligraphy – with a festive twist!

This beginner-friendly workshop is perfect if you’re completely new to calligraphy or simply craving a peaceful, Christmassy refresher. We’ll start by getting to know the tools – assembling your pen, learning how to dip properly, and exploring the basics of modern calligraphy. Then, you'll warm up with simple exercises to build confidence with shapes and strokes.

Next, we’ll dive into festive-themed practice – tracing letters and seasonal words and phrases using my specially designed worksheets. You’ll experiment with shimmering inks and rich seasonal colours as we build towards creating your own hand-lettered holiday cards, gift tags, and envelopes – all ready to take home and share with loved ones.

Throughout the workshop, I’ll be on hand to guide you, answer questions, and help you add your own creative touches – including mini festive illustrations and sparkly embellishments to decorate your pieces.
