Valentine’s Day Cards - Brush Calligraphy and Watercolour Online Workshop

Valentine’s Day Cards - Brush Calligraphy and Watercolour Online Workshop

from £5.00

Online workshop

Saturday 7th February, 2-4pm.

Slow down, unwind, and enjoy a relaxing two hours of creativity as we design and paint three beautiful Valentine’s Day cards using watercolour and brush calligraphy.

In this guided, follow-along workshop, I’ll take you step by step through the full process - from painting soft florals and romantic backgrounds to adding expressive brush lettering and finishing touches that make your cards feel extra special.

During the class, we’ll explore:
✦ Watercolour techniques for painting florals, backgrounds, and layered designs
✦ How to combine colour palettes that feel warm and cohesive
✦ Adding brush calligraphy to create meaningful Valentine’s messages
✦ Simple ways to elevate your cards with highlights and subtle gold details
✦ Tips for layout and composition so each card feels balanced and finished

This workshop is ideal for anyone who already has some experience with brush calligraphy and a basic understanding of watercolours, and would love to bring the two together in a calm, supportive setting. Everything is taught clearly, so you can relax and enjoy the process.

You’ll finish the class with three hand-painted Valentine’s cards - perfect for gifting, posting, or keeping as little works of art.

This is a donation-based session (pay what you can), making it accessible to everyone who’d love a gentle creative reset and some time just for themselves.

Upon booking, you'll receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link, so you can join us from the comfort of your own home.

A REPLAY OF THE CLASS WILL BE AVAILABLE IF YOU CAN’T MAKE IT LIVE - You can watch and create whenever it suits you.

TOOLS YOU’LL NEED FOR THIS CLASS:
Watercolours - you can use any paints you like. I love this Van Gogh palette as well as this Gansai Tambi paint set.

Watercolour paper - try to go for good quality paper, 250 - 300gsm weight if possible. I love this A4 Winsor and Newton paper pad.

Brushes - Round pointed brushes will be the best. If possible have a few different sizes ready, maybe a size 6, 8 and 10. This is my all time favourite brush - you’ll be able to paint most elements in this size.

2 pots of water
A pencil, eraser and ruler

Paper towel
A mixing palette - plastic or ceramic, you can also use a ceramic plate.

Fine tip brush pens - I recommend Pentel Brush Sign Pens in black (+ any other colours you’d like to use)

White Gel Pen or a fineliner

Gold watercolours to add a bit of sparkle (optional) -
I love Coliro Pearlcolours but any other ones will be ok too.

If you have any questions about the tools, please get in touch at hello@creativefeeldesigns.com

I’m looking forward to painting with you!
