Beginners Christmas Brush Calligraphy Workshop – Gail’s Bakery, 157 Church Road, Hove, BN3 2AD

Join me for a festive and creative Sunday afternoon at Gail’s Bakery in Hove, exploring the relaxing art of modern brush pen calligraphy.

This workshop is designed for complete beginners who’d love to switch off for a couple of hours and create something beautifully personal. You’ll learn how to use brush pens and build confidence as you explore the fundamentals of modern calligraphy in a friendly, encouraging setting.

We’ll begin with simple warm-up strokes and pressure exercises, getting familiar with both fine and medium brush pens. Then we’ll move on to forming letters, connecting words, and creating festive phrases ready for Christmas.

Once you’ve found your flow, I’ll guide you through designing your own hand-lettered Christmas cards, envelopes, and gift tags, complete with seasonal doodles such as leafy branches, berries, and little festive flourishes to add that extra touch of charm.

• Take-home worksheets, cards, envelopes, and gift tags
