Cottage Garden Loose Flower Painting & Hand Lettering Online Workshop - 24.05.25
Cottage Garden Loose Flower Painting & Hand Lettering Online Workshop
Sunday 24th May, 2-4pm BST.
Slow down, unwind, and enjoy a relaxed, creativity-filled two hours as we design and paint three beautiful cottage garden inspired cards using loose watercolour florals and simple hand lettering.
In this guided, follow-along workshop, I’ll take you step by step through the full process - from painting soft, expressive cottage garden flowers to adding stylised fineliner lettering and those final touches that bring each card to life.
During the class, we’ll explore:
✦ Loose, beginner-friendly watercolour techniques for painting cottage garden favourites like cosmos, hollyhocks, daisies, hydrangeas, echinacea and more
✦ How to create soft, natural floral arrangements that feel light, relaxed and effortless
✦ Using a fineliner pen to add charming, stylised hand-lettered phrases
✦ Combining ink and watercolour for that lovely illustrated card look
✦ Simple tips for layout and composition so your cards look polished and complete
This workshop is beginner friendly - perfect for anyone with a very basic understanding of using watercolours and a fineliner pen. Everything is taught step by step in a calm, supportive setting - so you can relax, enjoy the process, and build confidence as you go.
You’ll leave the class with three finished cottage garden cards - ready to gift, frame, or send to someone special.
This is a donation-based session (pay what you can), making it accessible to everyone who’d love a gentle creative reset and some time just for themselves. Please choose the amount you’re comfortable paying
Upon booking, you'll receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link, so you can join us from the comfort of your own home.
A REPLAY OF THE CLASS WILL BE AVAILABLE IF YOU CAN’T MAKE IT LIVE - You can watch and create whenever it suits you.
TOOLS YOU’LL NEED FOR THIS CLASS:
Watercolours - you can use any paints you like. I love this Van Gogh palette as well as this Gansai Tambi paint set.
Unipin in size 0.8
Watercolour paper - try to go for good quality paper, 250 - 300gsm weight if possible. I love this A4 Winsor and Newton paper pad.
Brushes - Round pointed brushes will be the best. If possible have a few different sizes ready, maybe a size 6, 8 and 10. This is my all time favourite brush - you’ll be able to paint most elements in this size.
2 pots of water
A pencil, eraser and ruler
Paper towel
A mixing palette - plastic or ceramic, you can also use a ceramic plate.
A fineliner pen, - e.g. Unipin in size 0.8
Gold watercolours to add a bit of sparkle (optional) - I love Coliro Pearlcolours but any other ones will be ok too.
